Subject: New Scheme Launched - Tartan Smalls
Tartan Smalls offers an opportunity for new talent to work in the children's area, or existing talent, (without previous children's experience) to enter this exciting creative genre.

Applications are welcome from writer/producer/director teams or from individual writers. With additional support from Scottish Screen National Lottery Fund awards will be for 35,000 UKP

Scripts of all genre are welcome, but tone and focus should be inspired by and appropriate for the 16.35 or 17.00 weekly drama slots on CBBC1. It is important that the duration and the cost of the film is considered.
Projects exceeding 9 minutes in length will not be selected. Deadlines for submission is 11th January 2002.

Short Circuit is a Short Film distribution initiative. It is a partnership between London Film & Video Development Agency, Showroom Cinema and Yorkshire Media Production Agency. Our aims are to distribute and secure cinema exhibition of new innovative short films from the broadest possible range of filmmakers across the UK.
Short Circuit are looking for new, innovative short films of up to ten minutes length. They can be shot on any format, but must be completed on 35mm. Any filmmaker within the UK, who has a film that fits the criteria of length and format, may submit their film to Short Circuit. The fund is not in a position to offer completion finance. The SUPER SUPER 8 WORLD TOUR is back for it's fourth voyage around the globe. Last year's tour included screenings in 50 different cities and 20 different countries throughout this wonderfully wacky world of ours....... This year's Tour will return to Europe and North America while also making it's first stop south of the United States Border in Mexico. We leave April 10th and hopefully return unscathed in September. Send us your films to be a part of the adventure. All films must have some element of Super 8 filmmaking involved however we are flexible with regards to exhibition format. Super 8 prints, Super 8 blown up to 16 mm and DV copies of Super 8 films are all acceptable. There will be a small honorarium given to films that are chosen to tour and you will have your name in lights in all corners of the globe. With the last mentioned company we are exclusively responsible for the content on the website the Broadband Internet Company 'Shortfilm.Net', part of the New Amsterdam IT Group (NAIT), located in Amsterdam, The Netherlands. Shortfilm.Net is the first European broadband-based shortfilmsite, and discerns from American counterparts like Atom Films or IFILM, because it is paying a financial compensation to all the selected filmmakers. New site will pay for your scary shorts If you're an aspiring director with a taste for the terrifying or a penchant for the paranormal then it will probably be worth checking out a new site launched by urbanchillers.com. The UK-based company recently set out its store with the grand aim of capturing the global market in chilling entertainment. To this end it will pay up to £2,600 for any original spooky short feature uploaded on the site. Directors who really shine will be commissioned by urbanchillers.com to make further films. The company is talking distribution deals with several major studios and to date three films have gone out via Universal on broadcasters that include the UK's Sci-Fi Channel.
