The 85mm diameter gears are a similar size to those found on Arri Mk1 super speeds.
The 96mm diameter gears were designed to allow some follow focus wheels to access the ring when used on the Blackmagic Cinema camera (where the 85mm rings were not quite reached when the external power plug is fitted).
Typically the 85mm gears transform the 1/4 turn of the Standard Arri helicoid to a 3/4 turn on a follow focus wheel. The 96mm diameter gear increases this slightly to just over a 3/4 turn.
